Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accident and Emergency Nurse to join our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, plan and implement effective care, and evaluate the quality of care provided.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Provide leadership that promotes a patient-focused approach to care, work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team, and encourage and support junior staff in their professional growth.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain awareness of and comply with Trust policies and protocols, participate in the development and monitoring of standards of care, and contribute to the creation of a safe and harmonious working environment.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the security and maintenance of equipment belonging to the Emergency Department, and work with the Lead Nurse to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order.
  • Incident Reporting: Respond to incidents and complaints as they arise, and report to senior colleagues as necessary.
Requirements
  • Competency in Basic Nursing Skills: Possess competency in basic nursing skills for the Emergency Department.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Be proactive in problem-solving, adaptable to changing situations, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Possess leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop and support junior staff.
