About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Optometrist to join our team as Deputy Head of Optometry. As a key member of our Optometry Department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the Optometry Department, ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction, quality of care, and departmental performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and growth.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Optometry and registration with the General Optical Council.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent specialist knowledge in Hospital Optometry, acquired over 10+ years of experience.
  • Independent prescribing or progress toward this qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, patients, and stakeholders.
