About the Employer:


Interaction Technical has partnered with a prominent manufacturer in the Agricultural Engineering sector located in the Dorset region to enhance their engineering workforce.

As the business expands, our client seeks to recruit an electromechanical field technician to service, maintain, and repair a variety of agricultural machinery in and around the Dorchester area.


Compensation Package:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £30,000-£40,000 based on experience, with potential earnings of £45,000-£50,000+
  • 32 days of paid leave including public holidays, increasing with tenure
  • Overtime available at 1.5X during weekdays, and double time on Sundays and public holidays
  • Holiday overtime pay - distributed in May (£1,500 paid last year)
  • Commitment to ongoing training and career development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose faults accurately, perform servicing, and conduct emergency repairs on agricultural machinery (tractors, combines, balers, etc.)
  • Travel to client locations to ensure machinery is maintained and repaired to the highest standards.
  • Conduct diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical issues on agricultural and horticultural equipment
  • Work independently at customer sites while collaborating with colleagues to ensure proper documentation and solutions are provided.
  • Engage in engine, battery, and hydraulic work, alongside mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Communicate with clients to diagnose issues and provide effective solutions.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience with hydraulics, along with mechanical and electrical skills (essential)
  • Background in the Agricultural sector (essential)
  • Experience in electrical and/or mechanical fault diagnosis, repair, and servicing (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with engines and batteries (advantageous)
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
  • Valid UK Driver's License
