Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Devon County Council. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and leadership to support the delivery of our ambitious strategy and action plans.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a CCAB qualified accountant with a broad range of financial and leadership experience. You will have a proven track record of delivering at pace on a range of activities, including change management, partnership working, contract management, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial guidance and leadership to support the delivery of our strategy and action plans.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
  • Lead and manage a team of financial professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and legislation.

Requirements:

  • CCAB qualified accountant with a broad range of financial and leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering at pace on a range of activities, including change management, partnership working, contract management, and commissioning.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
