About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Deputy Service Manager in our Supported Living Services. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in supporting our service users to live fulfilling lives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment and induction of new staff, ensuring they receive the necessary training and support.
  • Provide structured supervision to the staff team and assist with personal reviews, helping to identify areas for training and development.
  • Help lead staff meetings, ensuring they are conducted in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to staff, promoting best practice in supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Undertake on-call duties as required, ensuring the service is effectively managed seven days a week.
  • Monitor attendance and conduct return-to-work interviews, addressing any issues promptly and fairly.
  • Ensure staff complete timesheets and annual leave requests are dealt with appropriately.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including Adult Social Care and Health, CCGs, and other external partners.
  • Lead by example, promoting joint working and enabling service users to live fulfilling lives based on their individual needs and aspirations.
  • Generate person-centred support plans for all service users, ensuring ongoing review and adaptation to meet their changing needs.
  • Ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place and implemented to safeguard the wellbeing of service users, working in conjunction with the wider team and multi-disciplinary teams.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A developing leader with a desire to progress into a managerial role, ideally with previous experience in a Supported Living or Residential service.
  • Experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities or Mental Health conditions is preferable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding role, with a willingness to undertake further training or development as required.
