Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine doctor to join our team as a Trust Registrar in A&E. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a team of dedicated professionals, providing high-quality care to patients in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking clinical duties as a registrar in Emergency Medicine at Barts Health NHS Trust. This will include working in all areas of the department, including Resus, Majors, Paeds, Front door assessment, SDEC and CDU. The post holder will work under the supervision of a named educational and clinical supervisor and will have formal educational oversight of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake clinical duties as a registrar in Emergency Medicine
  • Work in all areas of the department, including Resus, Majors, Paeds, Front door assessment, SDEC and CDU
  • Work under the supervision of a named educational and clinical supervisor
  • Have formal educational oversight of the role
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • BLS and ALS
  • PLAB if required
  • Child Safeguarding Level 3
  • 36 months experience in emergency medicine or acute specialties, with a minimum of 12 months in emergency medicine
  • APLS
  • ATLS
  • MRCEM or equivalent
Desirable Criteria

The following criteria would be advantageous:

  • Additional relevant degree (intercalated, masters or doctorate)
  • FRCEM or equivalent
  • Advanced ultrasound skills
  • Experience working at registrar level in emergency medicine
