Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across a variety of subjects, working closely with teachers to ensure all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons by providing academic support to students, both individually and in groups. Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- One-to-One and Small Group Work: Provide focused support to students who require additional help, tailoring your approach to meet their individual learning needs and helping them to overcome academic challenges.
- Resource Development: Aid in the creation and adaptation of educational materials to support learning. This includes preparing resources for different ability levels and ensuring that all students are engaged and challenged.
- Student Engagement: Encourage and motivate students to participate fully in their learning, helping to build their confidence and enthusiasm for education. Support students in developing effective study habits and learning strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking student progress, providing feedback to teachers, and contributing to the planning and delivery of targeted interventions where necessary.
- Supporting Exam Preparation: Help students prepare for assessments by providing guidance on revision techniques, supporting them with key concepts, and helping them to build confidence ahead of exams.
Requirements:
- A recent graduate with a strong academic background in any subject area.
- Passionate about education and eager to contribute to student success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Proactive, patient, and adaptable, with a commitment to supporting student learning and development.
- Experience working with young people, particularly in an educational setting, is advantageous but not essential.
