Fire Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Manager to join our Estates and Facilities Team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our Trust is fully compliant with all fire, life safety, legal, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Fire Safety Team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring Trust-wide compliance with recognized legislation and guidance.
- Develop and maintain efficient, effective, and high-quality processes and systems for fire risk management.
- Assist the Director of Estates and Facilities Management and the Chief Financial Officer in meeting statutory obligations relating to fire safety.
- Provide assurance that the Trust is meeting statutory and regulatory requirements, and identify gaps in compliance.
- Ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, systems, and arrangements are in place to support fire safety, and that robust governance processes are in place to monitor implementation and effectiveness.
- Master's degree level education or equivalent knowledge and experience in fire life safety management.
- Fire training college course(s) for fire safety management certification or equivalent.
- Significant in-depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Order (RRO), Firecode, and Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 05-01 managing healthcare fire safety.
- Experience of working with HTM 'Firecode' and managing professional staff, including staff development and performance management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with external agencies.
- Membership of a professional organization, such as the Institute of Fire Engineers (GIFE) or Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (MIFPO).
- Experience of fire safety project management and provision of advice to project management teams.
- Knowledge and experience of fire safety quality management systems.
- Experience of arranging and delivering fire safety training to non-fire personnel.
