As a Claims Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality claims service to our clients. You will be responsible for managing all assigned claims, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage a designated caseload of claims from initiation to resolution, collaborating with clients, insurers, claimants, policyholders, brokers, and other professionals.
- Escalate claims that exceed personal authority limits to your supervisor.
- Collect and analyze information as needed to facilitate the thorough evaluation of more complex claims.
- Support the onboarding and training of new or less experienced team members in company systems and procedures.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and training, ensuring compliance with Training & Competency standards.
- Conduct all business interactions with professionalism and efficiency.
- Represent both the insured and the insurer at various times, adhering to all organizational policies regarding conflict of interest and ensuring fair treatment of all customers.
- Undertake additional tasks as reasonably requested by the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in managing a diverse range of motor, liability, and property claims is preferred.
- Strong background in customer service.
- Knowledge of general insurance principles and practices.
- Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic to handle a substantial caseload effectively.
- Familiarity with various classes of risk, products, and market dynamics.
- Understanding of general insurance regulations and ethical business practices.
- Proficient in IT applications.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
