Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea, a leading engineering consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions for a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver coordinated, collaborative, and innovative design solutions that meet our clients' brief and vision.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers to develop and deliver designs for a range of project types and sizes.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team.
  • Monitor fee expenditure, resource, and work delivered, and ensure adherence to QM and risk control procedures.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered status or working towards it.
  • Excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design.
  • Competence in designing and reviewing information by others in BIM environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability in negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, motivation, and management.
