We are committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients and contributing to the growth and development of the business as a whole. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in leading a multi-disciplinary team on technically challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Manage projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business.
- Technical Support: Provide sound technical, design, and contract management support on Mechanical Building Services Engineering disciplines to ensure project requirements and clients' specifications are fully met.
- Team Leadership: Contribute to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and potential areas for growth, and maintain and develop existing client relationships.
- Design and Delivery: Manage a multi-disciplinary design team to ensure successful preparation and delivery of project objectives, including providing technical support.
- Quality and Timely Delivery: Work with other principal engineers to ensure quality and timely operation delivery for clients.
- Specifications and Drawings: Compile specifications, drawings, and relevant contract documents, maintaining the required technical quality of work, ensuring that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Client Liaison: Act as the lead engineer and liaise with the client and external design team as necessary for the successful delivery of projects.
- Project Execution: Deliver small- to large-scale projects from concept designs through to completion, executing Building Services Engineering activities within the budget and schedule, whilst maintaining technical integrity.
- Resource Planning and Motivation: Negotiate positive outcomes, resource planning, providing motivation and management.
- Team Building and Support: Promote team building and support the team through training and mentoring.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A relevant degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification or sufficient suitable experience.
- Desirable Experience: Desirable experience in data centre projects.
- Technical Knowledge: An appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering, and computer modelling in the design of buildings.
- Computer Literacy: Technical mechanical knowledge and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
- Software Skills: Computer literacy which includes Autodesk Suite, ProDesign, lighting software and Microsoft Office.
- Driving License: Current UK driving licence.
