About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our data infrastructure and statistics team. As the Director of Data Infrastructure and Statistics, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between our data and our target audience, ensuring the combined needs of Jisc and our statutory customers are met, and managing the staff of the Data Infrastructure and Statistics group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to make our data easy to access, understand, and use.
  • Lead the investment programmes to transform our outputs and ensure the HESA website presents headlines, outputs, coding manuals, and other artefacts with user experience in mind.
  • Manage the staff of the Data Infrastructure and Statistics group, including conducting appraisals, identifying training needs, delegating work, and addressing personnel issues.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including government, funding, and regulatory bodies, to ensure the combined needs of Jisc and our statutory customers are met.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality UK official statistics outputs and compliance.
  • Create a customer-focused strategy and innovate to develop existing and new data-based products and services.
