Rural Estate Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Rural Surveyor to join our Land and Property team at Yorkshire Water. As a Lead Rural Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing our rural estate, providing expert advice on property acquisitions and disposals, and working with project teams to deliver maintenance and capital works.
About the Role:
As a Rural Surveyor at Yorkshire Water, you will be an integral part of our Estates Team. You will be responsible for managing our rural estate, including tenanted land and properties, and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant management. You will also provide expert advice on property acquisitions and disposals, and work with project teams to deliver maintenance and capital works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the tenanted rural land and properties, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant management.
- Provide expert advice on property acquisitions and disposals, and work with project teams to deliver maintenance and capital works.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to problem solve and identify risks and opportunities throughout the estate.
- Support the Senior Estates Manager to deliver financial targets, provide regular reporting, and ensure annual and 5-yearly business strategy targets are achieved.
- Lead a programme of farm audit inspections and reporting, assessing land condition across the estate in accordance with catchment land management requirements.
Requirements:
- MRICS and CAAV qualifications.
- A demonstratable track record of managing rural estates, or similar, to a high standard.
- Experience visiting/inspecting different types of land and property.
- Evidence of successfully delivering estates projects to budget and time.
- Excellent and demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
- People management experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the legal and regulatory requirements relating to the ownership, management, purchase, and sale of land and property.
