Key Responsibilities:

As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, you will collaborate with the Transport team, focusing on the maintenance and repair of HGVs, LGVs, and vans. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting routine vehicle maintenance and servicing, preparing for MOTs, and executing repairs or replacements of defective components while ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently, adhering to DVSA standards.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle faults using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Performing road tests on vehicles and completing necessary administrative documentation.
  • Being available for on-call duties during winter months to assist with vehicle breakdowns, particularly for our fleet of gritters.

Qualifications:

This Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician role is ideal for you if:

  • You possess an NVQ Level 2 or are fully qualified and hold a HGV driving license (training for a HGV license can be provided).
  • You have prior experience as a vehicle technician.
  • You are comfortable with the maintenance of plant and machinery.
