The Support Engineering Team is tasked with testing and offering technical troubleshooting during the development phase, which encompasses the creation of product support strategies to ensure maintenance, manage obsolescence, and facilitate ongoing manufacturing and assembly.


Key Responsibilities:
Develop innovative solutions and tackle intricate challenges within your area of expertise.
Ensure meaningful contributions and constructive critiques during design evaluations.
Participate in technical and professional processes relevant to your discipline.

Operate with minimal oversight to meet engineering and manufacturing goals on schedule, with quality, and within budget, directly influencing favorable project results.

Provide mentorship and training to assist new team members
Shape decisions by offering guidance within closely related teams.
Stay informed about trends and emerging technologies within your field.

Estimate engineering project scopes within your discipline and collaborate with other areas to identify interdependencies, ensuring the successful delivery of your work package.

May lead significant technical projects and coordinate work assignments.
Enhance engineering skills under the mentorship of senior engineers and plan for professional growth
Contribute to the establishment of standards and specifications that guide others' work
Document findings and present work completed during peer and design evaluations.
Maintain the professional competencies necessary for this role.
Occasionally perform duties off-site as required.
Undertake any additional responsibilities as reasonably assigned by management.

Required Experience:

Relevant qualifications at an appropriate level, typically a Bachelor's Degree, a recognized apprenticeship, or equivalent experience, with substantial experience in a complex engineering environment.

Strong understanding of PCB design principles and construction
Proficient knowledge of board manufacturing processes
Conduct debugging and diagnostic testing.
Provide support and management for subcontractors.
Strong understanding of component performance and selection experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Awareness of other engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical, Systems, and ILS) to collaboratively manage obsolescence in design when necessary.

Ability to apply best practices in circuit design to ensure appropriate component selection for obsolescence, cost-effectiveness, safety, and reliability.

Comprehensive knowledge of product development and lifecycle management to effectively review technical drawings and documents.

Identify risks and opportunities, take ownership of mitigation strategies, and execute plans
Solid understanding of product development practices in aerospace and safety-critical sectors in accordance with ISO9001 and AS9100
Familiarity with hardware design and DO254
Knowledge of software design and DO178
