Job Description

Pertemps Birmingham Industrial is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Building Surveyor to join their team. As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing a range of building surveying services to clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Administration: Manage and coordinate building contracts, ensuring timely completion and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Dilapidations: Conduct thorough assessments of building conditions, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Party Wall: Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to ensure compliance with party wall legislation, minimizing disruptions and costs.
  • Landlord and Tenant: Provide expert advice on landlord and tenant matters, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes for all parties.
  • Defect Analysis and Rectification: Identify and rectify defects in building structures, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Client Brief Development: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored briefs for building projects.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee building projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
  • JCT Contract Administration: Manage and administer JCT contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure building projects comply with relevant planning and building regulations, minimizing risks and costs.
  • Specification Writing: Develop and implement specifications for building projects, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Schedules of Work: Create and manage schedules of work, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Construction Degree: Hold a degree in Building Surveying or a related field, with a strong understanding of building surveying principles and practices.
  • RICS or APC: Be working towards or have recently completed the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
  • Building Surveying Services: Have a working knowledge of a range of building surveying services, including contract administration, dilapidations, and party wall.
  • Technical Skills: Possess strong technical skills, including AutoCAD and NEC Contracts (Option C).
  • Project Cost Control: Have experience with project cost control, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
