Scope of Work:

This role offers flexibility in location across the UK, with expectations for travel to client sites and in-person collaboration with colleagues as necessary.

As a C&I Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in executing project tasks in line with established design instructions and company standards, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols while meeting budgetary and scheduling targets.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of independent work, and possess strong leadership skills. You will confidently manage the Control and Instrumentation aspects of projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery while facilitating effective collaboration with global teams.

The C&I Engineer will:
  • Develop RFQ packages for instrumentation in accordance with client and project standards.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations, conduct technical assessments, and recommend suitable vendors.
  • Approve Order Variation Summaries.
  • Conduct coordination and engineering review meetings with major equipment vendors.
  • Oversee C&I coordination with counterparts at Kent's High Value Engineering Centres.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and clients to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Provide updates for weekly reporting, highlighting concerns to project management promptly.
  • Assess progress and prepare reports, proposing corrective actions for any delays or inefficiencies.
  • Inform project management of significant delays, technical challenges, and client requests that may affect contracts.
  • Manage discipline hours effectively.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure the quality of project deliverables in line with budget and schedule.
  • Offer practical expertise in site visits, surveys, and discussions with suppliers, vendors, and clients.
Key Qualifications:
  • BSc Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design, Execution, and EPCM.
  • Technically proficient and knowledgeable about the latest technological advancements.
  • Ability to produce accurate documentation that meets required standards and timelines.
  • Familiarity with Material Take Off processes.
  • Experience in sectors such as Oil and Gas, Refining, Chemical, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture and Storage.
  • Background in Brownfield upgrades and instrumentation replacement projects.
  • Experience with Emerson and Yokagawa instruments is a plus.
  • Ability to develop subcontract and purchase order requisitions, with relevant contractor experience.
  • Prior experience in reviewing and approving engineering deliverables.
  • Commercially aware and detail-oriented.
  • Able to thrive in an integrated team environment, fostering trust and respect.
