We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Briggs Equipment Ltd. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for attending customer locations to determine the scope of work required, assessing and agreeing with the end user their work priorities, and ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities- Attend customer locations to determine the likely scope of the work required and assess the end user's work priorities.
- Liaise with the controller and customer on the range of expected work, providing clarity and understanding by all parties on the likely timescales and associated costs.
- Identify the root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and ensure the correct parts are obtained in the most cost-effective way.
- Use available resources to achieve this, including the Briggs Technical team when required.
- Ensure all work complies with engineering standards and, as relevant, Briggs/manufacturer specification/tolerances.
- Carry out inspection/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensure that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer.
- Identify any further work required on a machine and ensure the customer is made aware of the fact, especially where a cost to the customer is to be incurred.
- Maximise potential revenue for equipment that has been damaged.
- Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, with necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.
- Relevant technical qualification.
- Previous experience within a similar role.
- Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
- The ability to work independently and under pressure.
- The ability to manage and prioritise workload.
- Understanding customer needs.
- A base salary up to £36,209 pa based on a 40 hour working week.
- Additional pay increase signed off for July 2024.
- Overtime is payable at x1.5 Monday – Saturday and x2 on Sunday.
- Vehicle is available for private use if desired (tax to be paid).
