About the Role:
We are collaborating with a prominent fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) organization that is experiencing significant growth. They are currently in search of a Quality Control Specialist to become a vital part of their dedicated team.


Key Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining product excellence and ensuring compliance with ISO standards and internal Quality Management Systems.


  • Conduct analysis of raw materials utilizing appropriate analytical techniques or instrumental methods (such as HPLC, GC-MS, UV/VIS).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory analytical equipment (including GC-MS, HPLC, Refractometer, Densitometer, and pH meter).
  • Perform testing of raw materials and finished products as part of the Goods In/Out product release protocol.
  • Investigate non-conforming samples and out-of-specification results, reporting findings to the relevant department within established timelines.
  • Document the receipt and results of analyses conducted in the Quality Control laboratory.
  • Oversee the release of finished products in accordance with company procedures.
  • Record and analyze trends in the results of incoming goods assessments.
  • Carry out routine calibration of instruments and perform daily laboratory checks.
  • Report any faults or deficiencies in equipment or analytical practices to the laboratory manager.
  • Complete maintenance logs for cleaning and basic servicing of laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure that analytical laboratory equipment files are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Keep individual training records for laboratory, regulatory compliance, and Health & Safety purposes.
  • Monitor and check stock levels of laboratory chemicals and consumables, reporting any procurement needs to the laboratory manager.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory workspace, reporting any hazards or potential hazards to the Health and Safety Manager.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and diligent individual focused on delivering exceptional service. Key skills include:

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail in producing quality outputs, even under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to seek clarification on job requirements.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • A degree in a science-related field, preferably Chemistry; however, candidates with substantial relevant experience without a degree will also be considered.
  • Awareness of the latest relevant technologies and research.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within a laboratory setting and knowledge of food safety standards in compliance with FSSC22000 or BRC.
