Electrical Systems Educator

Permanent position, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks annually

In collaboration with the Head of Department, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional educational experiences within the Electrical curriculum, integrating both theoretical and hands-on practical instruction.
Core ResponsibilitiesTo uphold high standards of education and evaluate assessment processes in line with examination standards.
  • Design and implement an engaging educational program that inspires and motivates learners across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 courses, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and competencies in the Electrical sector to ensure readiness for employment.
  • Create comprehensive learning plans (schemes of work), lesson outlines, assessment strategies, educational materials, and other related activities that influence the effectiveness of learning.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of learning through observations, practical assessments, examination/assignment grading, and professional discussions.
  • Continuously gather feedback from employers and work placements to maintain high satisfaction levels and learner engagement.
  • Engage in ongoing curriculum evaluation to ensure it remains innovative and impactful.
  • Integrate English, Mathematics, and ICT into the curriculum.
  • Utilize the college's ProSuite systems to document and track all educational interventions, showcasing the continuous progress of each learner throughout their educational journey.
  • Coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments conducted by the course team.
  • Collaborate with college and subject-specific Internal Quality Assurers (IQA) to ensure high-quality internal pre-gateway and qualification checks are performed regularly.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner assessments and achievements, ensuring they are interconnected across all delivery aspects.
  • Proactively contribute to the success and vision of the department.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
  • Level 2 (e.g., GCSE) English and Mathematics at Grade C or above.
  • A nationally recognized qualification, at least at Level 3, or equivalent, in an Electrical discipline.
  • 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification.
  • TAQA Assessor Award (or willingness to pursue this qualification).
  • Teaching Qualification (or willingness to pursue this qualification).
  • Safeguarding & Prevent Level 1 certificate or willingness to pursue this qualification.
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a personal vehicle.
