Job Summary

We are seeking a Trainee Solicitor to join our Disputes team, undertaking the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) route to qualification. As a Trainee Solicitor, you will assist our growing number of clients with a varied range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, director and shareholder disputes, debt recovery, IP infringement, negligence, employment, construction, and leasing disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oral and written advice to clients on a broad range of dispute matters, including breach of fiduciary duties and shareholder agreements.
  • Advising clients on breach of contract claims across a wide range of industries.
  • Preparing cease and desist letters in respect of IP infringement and responding to IP infringement claims.
  • Preparing letters of claim for debt recovery and issuing proceedings.
  • Advising employers on employment disputes, such as enforcement of restrictive covenants, breach of confidentiality, unfair or wrongful dismissal, discrimination, and defending claims issued in the Employment Tribunal or High Court.
  • Conducting legal research.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be available to commence work in our office between September 2024 and the end of November 2024. Under the supervision of our Practice Leaders and Senior Associates, you will receive comprehensive formal and on-the-job training focused on technical legal knowledge, matter management, and client service and meeting professional obligations.
