About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and the day-to-day management and delivery of a larger scale housing project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works.
  • Manage and deliver project works, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate risks, and to develop and implement solutions to ensure project success.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that all site operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, and that all necessary documentation is maintained.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and maintain site cleanliness and presentation at all times.
  • Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, and provide direct instruction and support as necessary.
  • Follow Vistry site procedures and maintain all daily, weekly, and monthly site paperwork as required to be audit compliant.
  • Involved with the management of internal/external design team/consultants to meet project deadlines.
  • Produces and regularly reviews short-term programmes in line with the overall project programme to ensure completion on time.
  • Ensure that detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these into decision-making.
  • Liaise with Contract Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and is notified of all financial, specification, and time risks.
Requirements
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Scaffold inspection qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven experience in construction project management.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
