Coulter Elite Resourcing is currently seeking an experienced Automation Systems Engineer to join a prominent and successful organization within the manufacturing sector. This role is part of a dedicated Software and Controls team.

The Automation Systems Engineer is responsible for the development and integration of both hardware and software components to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of the company's machinery.

Our client is a large-scale manufacturing entity known for its expertise in mechanical systems. They have established a strong reputation for their innovative products and the excellent career advancement opportunities they provide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and validate module-level code in accordance with the established software development lifecycle.
  • Define software requirements and functionalities.
  • Create custom testing software to facilitate comprehensive testing and validation processes.
  • Assist in software updates for equipment currently in operation.
  • Integrate hardware and software components effectively.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred; however, candidates with substantial industry experience may also be considered.
  • Proven experience in software development for mobile machinery.
  • Background in software engineering for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, particularly using CODESYS with FBD (Functional Block Diagram) and ST (Structured Text) languages.
  • Experience with the V-Model in software development.
  • Proficiency in software development using MS Visual Studio (C, C#, C++) is advantageous.

This is a full-time, permanent position for an Automation Systems Engineer, offering a standard 40-hour work week and a competitive annual salary of up to £65,000. Additional company benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus 8 public holidays, a pension scheme, and an annual bonus.
