Overview of the PositionIn this dynamic position, you will engage with all facets of overseeing the Internal Audit department.
Your responsibilities will encompass contributing to the Internal Audit strategy, shaping the audit agenda, executing audits to meet professional standards, and ensuring that critical actions identified during audits are effectively integrated.
This role will span various sectors of the Group, including Retail, Financial Services, and our operations in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of the Group Internal Audit strategy.
- Contribute to the formulation of the audit agenda.
- Provide insights into audit methodologies and operational processes.
- Foster and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders.
- Oversee the delivery of the Audit Plan within agreed timelines and standards.
- Monitor and report on the implementation of actions agreed upon in audits.
- Support the Group Head of Internal Audit in managing co-source partners involved in the audit plan.
- Act as a deputy for the Group Head of Internal Audit at significant committees as necessary.
- Participate in the recruitment and development of Internal Auditors as required.
- You will hold a professional qualification in auditing or accounting (IIA/ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with recent experience in a complex commercial environment.
- Possess strong communication and persuasive skills, enabling interaction with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Exhibit a high degree of integrity and the ability to challenge upwards and across functions while being open to constructive feedback.
- Demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and self-motivation within a high-profile function.
- Have a commercial perspective and the ability to understand impacts from various viewpoints, providing practical solutions.
- Show technical excellence with the intellectual capability to navigate complexity and convey intricate matters in straightforward terms.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and experience in managing a team of auditors.
- Be willing to challenge upwards and across functions and embrace constructive challenges.
