Job Title: Onsite Project Manager

Job Summary:

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an experienced Onsite Project Manager to lead our client's transmission and distribution projects. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of overhead power line sites across England and Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Provide technical input and support during project planning, development, and design stages to ensure timely awards and site starts.
  • Technical Analysis and Resolution: Lead technical analysis and resolve queries for contract bid packages to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Client Representation: Act as the Client's Representative, monitoring the Principal Contractor in line with CDM regulations 2015.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee civil and electrical aspects during the construction stage, managing onsite contractors to meet commercial contract conditions.
  • Program Management: Proactively plan and monitor project and contractor programs to ensure key dates or milestones are met.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety: Implement and monitor quality assurance, environmental processes, and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with transmission operational staff to support safety and commissioning stages.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Supervisor or Site Manager in the power sector, particularly in transmission overhead line works (132/275/400kV).
  • Leadership and Contract Management: Strong leadership, planning, and contract management skills, including experience with NEC Option B & EPC contracts.
  • Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation: In-depth knowledge of relevant Health and Safety and Environmental legislation (CDM, GS6, HSG47, etc.).
  • Authorizations: SP Energy Networks authorizations up to 400Kv.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent IT, negotiation, and influencing skills. SMSTS certification and First Aid qualification.

Logistics:

  • Contract Duration: This will be a long-term contract.
  • Site Locations: Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, and North Shropshire as well as Central and Southern Scotland.
