Job Title: Quality Control Engineer

Job Summary:

ZipRecruiter is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for driving improvements in shop floor quality through the implementation of formal procedures based on best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Improvement: Actively drive improvements in shop floor quality through the implementation of formal procedures based on best practice.
  2. Internal Audits: Carry out internal audits and support purchasing with supplier audits.
  3. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and support performance improvement through data capture and reporting, including management review meetings.
  4. Process Development: Define shop floor processes and procedures in conjunction with operational teams.
  5. Supplier Management: Cooperate with the purchasing team to establish supplier quality performance criteria and monitor supplier performance.
  6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO9001.
  7. Quality Meetings: Carry out quality meetings which include documenting quality issues and providing feedback.
  8. Process Optimization: Identify new processes and equipment to streamline production and provide cost reductions.
  9. Training and Development: Monitor and control local quality training within the department and factory.
  10. Reporting: Report the status of technical related debit notes to Management.
  11. Document Control: Design and/or modify QMS documents.

Requirements:

  1. Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience in manufacturing and assembly environment and techniques including punch, folding, powder coating, welding, and assembly.
  2. Best Practice Knowledge: Familiar with best practice in storage, movement, and handling of metal components, assemblies, and finished products.
  3. Project Management: Driven with the ability to plan and deliver to meet project deadlines.
  4. Commercial Awareness: Commercial and financial awareness.
  5. IT Skills: Good IT skills and familiar with MS Office packages.
