Job Description

**Job Title:** Director - Ethics and Independence

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Director - Ethics and Independence. This is a key role within East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, responsible for ensuring that our organization operates with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to promote a culture of ethics and integrity within the trust.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on ethical issues and ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities in maintaining the trust's high standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that our policies and procedures are aligned with the trust's values and principles.
  • Investigate and report on any breaches of ethics or integrity, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and professional organizations, to ensure that the trust remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the NHS or a related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of ethics and integrity principles, and the ability to apply them in a practical context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make sound judgments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
