About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Layout Coordinator to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient warehouse layouts to maximize utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement warehouse layouts that optimize space utilization and minimize costs.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of warehouse layouts and capacity to ensure they meet changing business needs and inventory levels.
  • Use warehouse management software and tools to plan and visualize layout designs, incorporating capacity forecasts.
  • Communicate layout and capacity changes to relevant stakeholders and ensure proper implementation.
  • Work closely with the safety team to ensure all layouts and capacity plans comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Plan and execute layout and capacity adjustments, ensuring minimal disruption to warehouse operations.
  • Monitor progress, manage timelines, and report on outcomes to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with layout changes, capacity planning, and warehouse operations.
  • Regularly present information to operational teams on historic and forward-view information to ensure upcoming challenges are visible and discussed.
  • Integrate capacity planning into layout design to optimize warehouse space based on current and forecasted inventory levels.
  • Develop strategies to balance layout efficiency with capacity needs, ensuring warehouse space is utilized effectively.
  • Analyse capacity data and trends to make informed decisions about layout and space utilization.

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the warehouse layout.
  • Implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance warehouse efficiency, capacity utilization, and productivity.
  • Conducting regular audits and assessments to ensure optimal layout, capacity, and organization.
  • Maintaining accurate records of warehouse layouts, capacity utilization, and inventory locations.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on warehouse layout performance, including space utilization metrics and efficiency improvements.
  • Analysing data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions for layout adjustments.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
  • Proficiency in using WMS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
