Position Overview
We are excited to offer a rewarding position for a Senior Clinical Psychologist dedicated to enhancing the mental well-being of older adults. This role is suitable for both seasoned professionals and those newly qualified, as we value diverse experiences and perspectives.
The selected candidate will join a dynamic and expanding team focused on providing psychological therapies to older individuals. This position is engaging and multifaceted, addressing a range of psychological challenges, conducting thorough assessments, and implementing effective interventions. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to create trauma-informed approaches that benefit both staff and patients. This part-time role (33 hours per week) will primarily involve working with a compassionate team dedicated to older adult mental health.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized clinical psychology services to older adults within the community mental health team and a dedicated female organic ward.
- Manage a personal caseload, providing expert assessments, formulations, and interventions, including neuropsychological evaluations.
- Support staff in developing a psychological understanding of service users and their families.
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration through case formulation, training, supervision, and joint initiatives to enhance psychological insights and care planning.
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and utilize research skills for service improvement and audits.
- Participate in training programs linked with regional doctorate training initiatives, offering placements for trainees.
- Provide clinical supervision to team members while receiving regular support from experienced psychologists.
- Access peer support from fellow clinical psychologists specializing in older adult care across the organization.
