Job Title: Chargehand Gardener

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chargehand Gardener to join our Grounds Maintenance team at Derby City Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising ground staff and undertaking general and skilled horticultural work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise ground staff and ensure the smooth operation of our grounds maintenance service
  • Undertake general and skilled horticultural work, including the use of professional grounds equipment
  • Manage and resolve daily issues, ensuring a high standard of work is maintained
  • Develop and implement effective team leadership and management strategies
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and Equality Act 2010

Requirements:

  • Full manual car driving licence
  • Extensive professional grounds maintenance experience
  • NVQ level 2 in horticulture or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Equality Act 2010
