**Job Summary**

Connect2Kent is seeking an experienced Children's Home Manager to assist with the running of a brand new Children's Home in Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Residential Support Workers and ensuring the highest standards of care for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Registered Manager in discharging their duties under the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, including quality standards.
  • Lead a staff group of Residential Support Workers, acting as a corporate parent to the children in care, to ensure their protection and well-being.
  • Manage day-to-day operations within the home, monitoring and delivering professional practice within service procedures.
  • Complete handover meetings with Residential Support Workers, ensuring they understand tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained for every child, including Liberi records, and quality assure the work of Residential Support Workers.
  • Coordinate children's appointments, attendance, and participation in Child in Care Reviews.
  • Complete Incident Reports and submit them to the Registered Manager as necessary.
  • Assist with bed availability and ensure Residential Support Workers complete checklists for children's belongings and rooms.
  • Develop and implement a weekly activity planner to provide stimulating and meaningful learning activities for children.
  • Work flexible shift patterns to monitor, feedback, and ensure effective implementation of practice by the team.
  • Promote equality and anti-discriminatory behavior, encouraging children and staff to express their wishes and feelings.
  • Complete regular formal supervision and practice development plans with Residential Support Workers.

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent or NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development.

Compensation:

£17.07 per hour.
