Role Overview

The Clinical Lead will provide essential clinical leadership within the hospital. This role encompasses the management and oversight of clinical services, operating theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring adherence to established policies, practice standards, regulations, and governance.

The successful candidate will deliver exceptional care to all patients, effectively managing patient flow through various departments to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care that prioritizes patient needs.

Visible leadership will be maintained at all times, ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of theatres and outpatient departments, facilitating safe and effective management of relevant pathways.

The Clinical Lead will also be expected to act in place of the Hospital Manager during their absence.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Registered General Nurse/Theatre Practitioner with NMC/ODP or HCPC registration is desirable but not mandatory
  • Thorough understanding of applicable clinical standards (e.g., AfPP standards) and regulatory frameworks relevant to the hospital and its departments
  • Experience in a senior role interacting with Consultants, Physicians, allied health professionals, patients, and suppliers
  • Previous leadership experience in a day surgical and/or operating theatre environment across multiple clinical disciplines
  • Proficient in all aspects of people management
  • Experience in implementing and supporting evidence-based clinical practices
