Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will oversee corporate support functions, which encompass financial oversight and reporting, the Programme Management Office, Procurement, Payroll Services, and the management of the Company's property assets, including development and Health and Safety projects. Through purpose-driven leadership, the Chief Financial Officer motivates and empowers team members, cultivating a culture of accountability and excellence. By effectively managing these areas, the Chief Financial Officer indirectly enhances patient safety and quality of care.

As our new Chief Financial Officer, you will supervise all financial operations and reporting, contributing to overall management for profitability and growth. Leverage financial and commercial acumen to formulate business and service strategies for future stability and expansion. Strategically, you will engage with organizations in the Health and Care sector, influencing key stakeholders, including NHS entities and partners. Represent DHU Healthcare at Contract Management Boards, facilitating service enhancements and identifying business prospects. You will also lead contract negotiations, procurement, and tender processes, acting as the Executive lead on significant projects, including the Green Plan and Change Management initiatives through the PMO team.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional Accountancy Qualifications (CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Experience in an Executive Director role
  • Proven track record of developing and leading a team to meet organizational objectives
  • Strong ability to communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues
  • Successful implementation of change initiatives
  • Experience collaborating with Board/NEDs
  • Demonstrated success in strategic development and execution
  • Proven capability to provide technical leadership for existing and new company services, as well as mentoring less experienced finance professionals
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make critical decisions in an Executive capacity
  • Capacity to create and shape innovative strategic visions for the long-term benefit of the organization and its patients
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Understanding of capital planning processes
  • Awareness of the impact of organizational culture on performance and productivity
  • Ability to coach and engage in constructive conversations
