Key Responsibilities- Act as a Key Worker: Implement care plans, conduct risk assessments, and devise support and health plans to ensure the well-being of our residents.
- Provide a Safe and Stimulating Environment: Support the day-to-day physical and emotional needs of children and young people, ensuring a clean and safe living space.
- Work with Professionals and Communities: Sustain links and understand past problems to provide effective support and guidance.
- Nurture Ambitions and Learning: Support children and young people's emotional, mental, and physical health needs to build self-esteem and promote positive contributions to their families, society, and local communities.
- Manage Complex Behaviour: Ensure that living spaces are clean and safe, and manage complex and challenging behaviour in an assertive, restorative, and sensitive manner.
- Collaborate with Colleagues and External Agencies: Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, families, and the wider public to ensure effective support and guidance.
- Participate in Appraisal and Training: Participate in appraisal, training, and development activities to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.
- Flexibility and Availability: Ability to travel and work across different locations, and availability to work on a rota basis, including sleep-ins, early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build relationships and actively engage with children and young people.
- Record Keeping: Maintenance of accurate manual and digital records in accordance with GDPR.
- Conflict Management: Skills in managing conflict and aggression using de-escalation techniques.
- Qualifications and Experience: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent, or willingness to complete the qualification within 2 years of starting work, and recent experience working with young people or vulnerable adults who may have emotional or behavioural difficulties.
