About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned procurement professional to join our team as a Senior Buyer. As a key member of our Purchasing department, you will play a crucial role in the ongoing procurement of materials, components, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet production requirements, ensuring timely deliveries aligned with customer demand.
  2. Procurement Planning: Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services using techniques such as JIT, Kanban, and Blanket POs, to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
  3. Inventory Management: Ensure accurate ordering and timely delivery of raw materials, components, and production supplies, managing inventory and safety stock levels to optimize service performance.
  4. Data Management: Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data in the MRP/ERP system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  5. Performance Analysis: Use Excel to create pivot charts and identify key areas for supplier performance improvements, providing data-driven insights to inform procurement decisions.
  6. Supplier Coordination: Work with the supply base to ensure material availability, resolving gaps in availability, capacity, quality, and cost, to meet production requirements.
  7. Reporting: Accurately report key measurables such as supplier delivery metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  8. Negotiation: Negotiate freight costs, Inco terms, and payment terms to improve margin and cash flow, ensuring optimal procurement outcomes.
  9. Compliance: Adhere to all policies and regulations related to product sourcing and promote supplier partnership procedures and practices, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Requirements
  1. Extensive experience in material buying and planning in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
  2. Strong background in supply chain management and inventory control.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
  4. Proven track record in reducing costs, lead times, and improving delivery terms.
