Job Summary

Centralnh is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Advocate to join our team. As a Child Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing support and services to minors experiencing domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention and court advocacy services to victims of all ages.
  • Support other staff members as needed on cases involving children.
  • Network with area court personnel, schools, police, and social service agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Conduct professional training in the community on topics related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of client files, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on technology and social media trends, particularly those relevant to children and youth, to provide informed support and education to staff.
  • Run child and youth groups as needed, providing a safe and supportive environment for participants.
  • Coordinate trauma-informed supports and services, case management, and referrals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent life or work experience.
  • 30 Hours of training in accordance with NH RSA 173-C.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Effective communication skills and a strong desire to work on topics related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and elder abuse.
  • Ability to intervene in crisis situations and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize, and remain calm in crisis situations.
  • Understanding of issues related to domestic, sexual violence, and stalking.
  • Adequate computer skills, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and ability to learn and work in other databases.
  • Creative, passionate about the issues, organized, dedicated, maintains healthy boundaries, team player, and professional.
  • Ability to take direction, work independently and as part of a team, and be self-motivated.
Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to communicate in person and on the phone with guests and clients.
  • Ability to receive and convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately and thoughtfully on the telephone and in-person.
  • Must be capable of performing multiple tasks (such as phone calls, computer work, and attending meetings) under stressful situations and to work in a fast-paced environment.
