Lead Emergency Care Nurse

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 6 Lead Emergency Care Nurse to become part of our compassionate and dynamic Nursing team. In this role, you will oversee the department and operate within the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit, necessitating outstanding organizational and leadership capabilities. The environment can be fast-paced and demanding, providing ample opportunities to apply your organizational expertise alongside your advanced clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will collaborate with an exceptional team committed to enhancing patient health when it is most critical. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing patient flow effectively during your shifts.
- Demonstrating ongoing professional development that aligns with personal, team, and organizational needs.
- Regularly stepping in for your Line Manager in their absence.
- Participating in the assessment and management of patients referred directly to the SDEC nursing team.
- Supporting the emergency department and other areas within the trust as required.

Work Schedule
This position requires a commitment of 30 hours per week, with shifts that may include long days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays to fulfill service requirements.
