About the Role

Majestic Wine is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for driving sales performance and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations
    • Support the Store Manager in driving sales performance and day-to-day operations of the store.
    • Take responsibility for the store and team in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Customer Service
    • Deliver exceptional market-leading customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
    • Offer a VIP concierge service to customers, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings.
  • Product Knowledge
    • Demonstrate and share your passion for product with customers through in-depth knowledge of our range.
    • Manage a tasting events program and execute an enticing and commercially savvy tasting counter.
  • Team Management
    • Support the recruitment, management, and development of the team.
    • Be a sounding board and source of support for more junior team members, feeding back to the Store Manager as appropriate.
  • Store Maintenance
    • Take accountability and pride for the physical appearance and maintenance of the store, both internally and externally.
    • Ensure swift reporting and escalation of any issues until resolved.
Requirements
  • Experience of working as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
  • Understanding of retail KPIs and ability to drive improvements.
  • Prioritization and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • WSET 2 qualification is essential, with a willingness to work towards WSET 3 qualification to progress to Store Manager.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
