Position Summary:
In the role of Senior Transport Officer, you will spearhead the strategic planning and execution of transport services in Derbyshire for Adult Social Care and Health (ASCH). Your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to financial, procurement, and legal standards while managing contract performance and addressing operational challenges.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of the Council's Transport Policy for vulnerable adults.
- Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to guarantee efficient service delivery.
- Supervise in-house ASCH service drivers and their vehicles.
- Foster and maintain partnerships with external contractors to ensure compliance and service quality.
- Prepare and manage tender documentation and the electronic tendering process.
- Address inquiries from MPs, Elected Members, and the public.
- Support the development of staff and manage inquiries to ensure all questions are addressed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience: A solid understanding of taxi and minibus operations, along with experience in planning and scheduling within complex service environments, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a thorough understanding of ICT systems.
Personal Attributes: Capable of working independently, effective communication skills, adept at managing workloads, and building positive relationships with stakeholders.
Educational Requirements:
A degree or equivalent qualification, or substantial relevant experience.
