Job Description

Job Title: Teacher of Girls' Physical Education and Health

Job Summary:

Croesyceiliog School, part of Torfaen County Borough Council, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teacher of Girls' Physical Education and Health to join our dedicated team of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physical Education and Health to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, as well as contributing to the development of the curriculum in line with Curriculum for Wales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physical Education and Health to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, using effective teaching and learning strategies to promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum in line with Curriculum for Wales, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education in Physical Education and Health.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies, and to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and attainment, using data to inform teaching and learning decisions and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of extra-curricular activities and events, promoting student engagement and participation in Physical Education and Health.

Requirements:

  • Good Honours degree in a relevant subject.
  • PGCE/Qualified Teacher status.
  • Experience of teaching Physical Education and Health to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies, and ability to use ICT effectively for teaching and administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to establish good relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
