Physics Graduate Placement in Laser Technology

About the Role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated physics graduate with a keen interest in Laser technology to join our team and contribute to this groundbreaking project.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning of state-of-the-art high power laser systems for research including optomechanical installation, data acquisition, and optimisation
- Diagnostics design and development for existing and future laser systems
- Computational work for laser design and simulation including MATLAB and Opticstudio
- Technical and scientific writing required to document progress and produce reports
- Work with technical equipment such as commercial lasers, oscilloscopes, optical fibres, spectrometers, cameras
Requirements
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Are required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
- Able to commence employment in summer 2025
- Minimum of two years of degree course in physics, or a closely related subject, with grades corresponding to a 2:1 or higher
- A-level Maths or equivalent
- A-level Physics or equivalent
