Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our well-established team at The Royal London Hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide expert care to children and young people with diabetes.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will be responsible for delivering a seamless service, providing the highest level of expert nursing care to children and young people with diabetes, and their families. This will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the aims and objectives of the Paediatric Diabetes service are delivered and implemented.
The post holder will also be an advocate for children and young people with diabetes, and their families, promoting child-focused, family-centred care and acting as a resource for the multi-agency team.
Requirements- Registered Sick Children's Nurse/Registered RN (Child)
- Relevant 1st degree or equivalent
- Mentorship Course/ENB 998 or equivalent
- Up-to-date registration with the NMC
- Specialist Clinical Course
- Relevant MSc or working towards
- Experience of working as a Band 6 in a relevant post
- Experience of being involved in clinical audit and evaluation
- Experience of running nurse-led clinics/attending diabetes clinics
- Experience of providing multi-professional teaching/education
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Presentation and teaching skills
- IT literate, including use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Organisational skills – able to incorporate priorities and work to deadlines when required
- Ability to facilitate reflective practice and carry out tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and support practitioners in changing practice
- Commitment to continuing professional development for self
- Ability to recognise own need for support and supervision

- The post holder will be required to work across the Trust at any time throughout the duration of their contract, which will entail travel and working at a different hospital
