Head of Bioinformatics Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Bioinformatics to lead our bioinformatics core support team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership and expertise in planning and developing bioinformatics analyses.
Key Responsibilities:- Crafting sequence analysis pipelines for bacterial genomic, metagenomic, and transcriptomic datasets
- Overseeing the analysis of sequencing outputs, including short and long read data from platforms like Illumina, PacBio, and Oxford Nanopore
- Guiding the development of customized analysis pipelines and coaching, training, and effective communication skills
- Collaborating closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and scientific communities within the Norwich Research Park
- Ph.D. in Computing Science or a related field
- Extensive computational expertise in UNIX, Illumina, and other bioinformatics programs
- Proficiency in cloud computing and specialized knowledge of molecular biology related to sequence generation
- Substantial experience in computational work within biological sciences and operating various sequencing platforms
