Rate: £14.72 per hour

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Support Worker to join our team in a secondary school setting. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of students with Special Education Needs (SEN).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must be patient and reliable.
  • Be able to work well in a team.
  • Be proactive in meeting students' needs.
  • Having 1:1 experience with children with SEN is desirable, but not essential.
  • Having experience with SEN in a secondary school setting is desirable, but not essential.
  • Should be able to empathise with their pupils and be able to set a good example.

The Role:

  • Supporting the teaching and learning of SEN students across the school, working with struggling pupils or those who have become stifled by the curriculum.
  • Helping them meet their potential through smaller booster groups and 1:1 sessions.
  • Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
  • Working closely with the SENCO to monitor and advance developments in both academic and social areas.

This is a rewarding role where you can have a real impact on the learning and development of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. As a Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides support and guidance to students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
