About the Role

VSA is a well-established local charity providing vital support and services to people of all ages in Aberdeen. We are seeking a skilled Relief Painter to join our Property and Maintenance Team on an ad-hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a routine and proactive painting service at all VSA establishments and associated services.
  • Carry out painting and decorating work as and when required or identified.
  • Establish and implement a routine to carry out daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in consultation with the Head of Business, Property Inspector, and Asset & Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are rigorously met by all while undertaking own duties.
  • Perform any other duties that may arise from time to time, provided they are within the post holder's capabilities.
Requirements
  • Must be a time-served painter or hold an appropriate City and Guilds, Scotvec, or equivalent qualification in painting.
  • Evidenced experience of stripping wallpaper, applying paint finishes to both internal and external surfaces with gloss, emulsion, woodstain, varnish, primer, and undercoat.
  • Wallpaper - both cutting and hanging.
  • Taping plasterboard surfaces.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety.

Other Job Requirements

A high level of fitness is required, as the post will involve aspects of manual handling on a day-to-day basis. This role will require the successful individual to have their own transport and a valid driver's licence.
