At Age UK, our retail teams are the face of our charity, delivering exceptional customer experiences while generating vital income to support our services and programs for older adults.

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Sales Assistant in our new store in Chester. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, working 3 days a week, including every Sunday.

As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the store, maintaining a tidy and accessible space, and showcasing our wonderful donations. You will also support with sales, stock rotation, organizing displays, and store tidying, while representing Age UK in a professional manner and reflecting our core values.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a great shopping experience
  • Managing the store, including stock rotation, displays, and tidying
  • Supporting sales and revenue growth
  • Representing Age UK in a professional manner and reflecting our core values
  • Handling and lifting bags of stock (up to 10kgs)

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in working in a customer-facing role
  • Experience of cash handling and sales
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including Sundays
