Job Title: Consultant Medical Oncologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). The successful candidate will have specialist skills in the management of Lung and Lower Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.

About the Role

This is a new substantive post based at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). The postholder will deliver all aspects of clinical care for patients in the services they are supporting, including outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and attendance at relevant MDTs. The post also includes an on-call commitment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with Lung and Lower GI cancers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans
  • Provide expert clinical opinion and guidance to junior colleagues
  • Contribute to the development of research and education programs within the department
Requirements
  • Full and specialist registration in either AIM or GIM with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Higher academic qualification e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
