Ecologist (Permanent) Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ecologist to join our dynamic team in our London office. As a key member of our consultancy, you will be involved in all aspects of ecological work, supporting the delivery of positive change for clients, communities, and the planet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct habitat and species surveys to inform project development and delivery.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to influence and negotiate project requirements and deliverables.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Ecology or a related subject.
  • Experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent sectors.
  • Experience of ecological field survey work and relevant UK environmental legislation.
  • Membership of (or working towards) the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or equivalent professional body with a professional code of conduct.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Hold (or be working towards) one or more Natural England (or other equivalent) protected species licence and/or hold Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or above.
  • Experience in preliminary ecological appraisals and/or UKHab surveys.
  • Experience of managing projects to deadlines and budget.
