About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Governance and Risk Manager to join our Financial Services Advisory team at BDO UK. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for financial services firms, including Skilled Person reviews, regulatory driven reviews, and internal control and assurance reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning of assignments and organise the delivery of work, developing more junior team members.
  • Support Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners in developing and maintaining deep client relationships, business development, and assisting with the team's strategy.
  • Develop specialist sub-sector knowledge, lead on assignments within your specialism, and help develop the technical and regulatory knowledge of the wider team.
Requirements
  • Experience in Governance and Risk Management, working within a professional services, consulting, or financial services firm or regulator (FCA or PRA).
  • Knowledge and experience of Corporate Governance, Board Effectiveness, Credit Risk, Risk Management Frameworks, SMCR, Operational Resilience, Conduct Risk, D&I, and Culture.
  • Functional knowledge of the UK Financial Services regulatory environment (FCA and PRA).
  • Strong reporting, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to present current economic and market trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present information in a clear manner.
  • Project Management skills and a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • People Management experience.
