About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist Specialist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Physiotherapist Specialist, you will be responsible for providing physiotherapy assessment, intervention, and advice to patients on the adult mental health wards at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physiotherapy assessment, intervention, and advice to patients on the adult mental health wards.
  • Manage and prioritize your own caseload.
  • Support the Multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic care to patients, including formal and informal teaching and guidance.
  • Support audits, and quality improvement projects.
  • Provide clinical supervision/education to more junior staff and students.
  • Ensure safe and appropriate use of mobility and gym equipment.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of local protocols and guidelines.

Qualification

Essential

  • BSc Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable

  • Evidence of postgraduate study relevant to the role
  • Member of a specialist interest group
  • Member of the CSP

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in a variety of care settings and care groups
  • Experience of managing complex patient caseload and developing management plans based on advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Experience of supervising other staff or students
  • Experience of working within an MDT

Desirable

  • Experience in a mental health setting
  • Experience in an MSK service
  • Experience working with older adults
  • Experience in audit and service development
  • Previous NHS experience
